Lakesha is a graduate of Virginia
Commonwealth University's Bachelor and Master's of Social Work
programs. Her background primarily includes working with children
and teenagers: facilitating social skills and healthy relationship
groups as well as individual counseling. She has worked in programs
such as Community Empowerment Program, a residential group home
for girls, Friends Association for Children, and Hopewell's Boys
and Girls Club. She also has counseling and case management experience
with adults. She has worked with agencies such as the YWCA and
the Richmond Redevelopment and Housing Authority. She has worked
with these families and individuals on issues such as sexual assault,
domestic violence, substance abuse, unemployment, homelessness,
and mental illnesses. She loves working with children and families,
helping them accomplish their goals, empower themselves, and maximize
their strengths in order to reach their full potential.
