Carol Lucking, Site Director for the Front Royal office, has enjoyed working for NCG since 2007. With over 30 years of experience in the mental health field, Carol served clients as a home based counselor in Culpeper before being promoted in February 2009 as Clinical Supervisor at the Warrenton office. Carol joined the Front Royal site in June 2009. With strong community relationships, Carol enjoys developing opportunities in the Northern VA region to expand services to families in need. Carol received her BS in 1977 with a major in Psychology as well as Community Leadership and Development from Springfield College, MA before receiving a Masters degree in 1980 with a double major in Counseling and Student Personnel in Higher Education from the University of Bridgeport, CT. She began her career conducting substance abuse groups with adolescents, worked in psychiatric inpatient facilities serving youth from age 4 to 16 in Connecticut and Florida, and was a family therapist and multi-disciplinary Team Leader. Carol received training from the pioneers of Structural and Strategic Family Therapy including Jay Haley, Salvador Minuchin, Peggy Papp and Virginia Satir. Thereafter, she was employed as a drug prevention specialist in the Miami, Florida school system. Her post graduate studies in Ericksonian Hypnotherapy led her to training in Neuro-Linguistic Programming and studies in complementary methods of care. While homeschooling her three children Carol spent five years as Director of Starfish Mentoring Program in Rappahannock County, VA while managing the administrative tasks at Rappahannock Healing Arts Center in Sperryville, VA for nine years while in private practice as a Life Coach.
