Mission Statement
"To alleviate suffering and improve lives."
In
the spirit of their mission, NCG’s staff embraces each
community with which they partner. Providing care “…to
all those in need” means
increasing access to a continuum of care for the children, families and adults
in need. In addition to accepting Medicaid and other local, state and federal
funding resources, NCG actively collaborates with public organizations to provide
dedicated care and outreach to its citizens. The benefit of these public/private
partnerships has resulted in reaching hundreds of individuals and families who
would not have otherwise received the specialized care essential to improving
mental health and general well-being.
NCG’s core values are Service, Relationships and Relief. NCG’s
approach to multi-systemic care, case management and crisis response
are deeply rooted in these values and are carefully emphasized
to all staff. NCG also expresses their dedication to helping
those in need by giving back through offering scholarships for
care, supporting local non-profit efforts and sponsoring community
events.

Practice Model
NCG's approach to community-based and outpatient counseling
and care draws upon both a multi-systemic and strength-based
model that promotes individual skills and responsibility, while
addressing identified problems. Strength-based counseling involves
looking beyond the surface of negative behavior in an attempt
to understand it as a way of coping with hardships and adversities.
Specifically, this approach to counseling provides a model for
identifying and accessing strengths masked behind problem behavior.
Multisystemic counseling means our clinical staff is actively
including the natural environments of an individual in the counseling
process. For children and adolescents, these environments include
their family, peers, school and neighborhood/community. When
the treatment plan addresses their primary supports and
environments, whether an individual is participating in Therapeutic
Foster Care, Intensive In-Home Services, Mental Health Support
Services or Substance Abuse Counseling, the care is all-inclusive
and the outcome is very likely to be successful.
Our highly skilled, professional staff begins with a comprehensive
assessment designed to identify problem areas and high risk behaviors.
Next, we develop a realistic treatment plan with the active participation
of the individual and their family members. These treatment plans
are individualized for each client and address issues such as
mental health and/or substance abuse issues, independent living
and life skill needs, and family, school and community difficulties.
Treatment goals are mutually agreed upon by all participating
individuals and are reasonable and obtainable, providing the
individual with experiences of success and self-responsibility.
Agency-wide quality assurance activities review consumer satisfaction and the
effectiveness of services delivered.
NCG recognizes that building trust and rapport
with an individual and their family is one of the most significant
factors in orchestrating successful interventions and treatment
episodes. This is particularly important for home-based services
as the counselor must be mindful of being both an invited guest
and a qualified expert contracted to provide counseling in a
host setting.
Over the years, NCG
has recognized the value for clients of combining in-home and
community-based services with other modalities of treatment.
For example, youth receiving outpatient substance abuse counseling
may benefit from home and community visits designed to identify
barriers to a successful outcome and/or to build independent
living skills. Read more about NCG’s line of care
